The Outer Core is the third of Earth's four layers and the closest to the Inner Core (center of the Earth). It is a liquid layer around 2,266 kilometers thick and made up of iron and nickel. The temperature of the Outer Core ranges from 4400 °C (closer to the Upper Mantle) to 6100 °C (closer to the Inner Core).
